// Charming family dinner. No really guys. There are berries. And shadows. People love that stuff right? Well anyways you should all join. XD
Do it! I know you all want to see the chaos that is happening.
“So you’ve heard of me” He teasingly said as he let a smug smirk cross his lips. “They all loved me even though they don’t want to admit it”
"Oh I’m sure they did. I mean who in their right mind could imagine resisting you." She said sarcastically, rolling her eyes at his smugness.
I’ve been on a rather long hiatus due to college and life, but I would really like to do some more rping on this account now that I have more time on my hands. So if any of my old partners or some other roleplayers would like to rp, please message me, or like this, and I would love to start something.
"Tell me, Alex, how is it that we have never met before today?"
"It’s a rare occurrence I’m anywhere other than at work. When I’m not there I’m catching up on sleep. Hard for me to meet anyone these days."
"I believe I asked you who you were first, but if you simply must know, Klaus Mikaelson."
"Pleasure. I’m Alex, Alex Reid."
"I did not saw you in the hospital when I was there," He began furrowing his eyebrows with a light smirk "And your face isn’t a face I would easily forget"
"Whale must have been in charge of you… " She said, the hint of a smile across her lips at his comment. "Wait, were you the one hitting on all the nurses?" She laughed. "I do remember them complaining about some guy in leather."
Maggie had been doing the same to him too — well, everyone had really. It wasn’t as though Joel had been incredibly discreet about his feelings for Alex. Maggie just figured out that he would never be happy or able to settle for anyone other than Alex. Perhaps that was her dating a shrink or what, but she seemed to have a handle on him already. He was that he could have at least maintained a relationship of sorts with Maggie that was somewhat close to friendship. “She tends to be,” he responded and looked at her, staring really. “She’s been saying the same to me too. Kept asking me to ask you to the fundraiser.”
Those words slid over him and he almost made her say it again. He was stalling and he knew it; he didn’t want to go back to their real jobs and their real lives just yet, but there was so much left to do before they could be together without remorse.
”I don’t … really care what anyone else thinks,” he said and watched her. She had been his first and she was his again; just the way that it should be.
Wondering if Maggie would be supportive or even a little happy that she had been right, Alex smiled a little. “Half this hospital could learned a lesson or two on subtlety,” she said thinking about all the hints and things that had been said as of late.
"I’m glad you don’t." Alex said softly giving him a soft peck on the lips. "None of that will have to matter anymore as long as were happy."
"Everything will turn out fine." This time she was more sure than she had been before as she said this. She knew. This was real and because of that everything would work out this time.
Raising an eyebrow for a few seconds, he nodded to her answer. “Alright, but maybe you’re more tired than you think. You seem stressed out, babe.” Reaching up, he put a hand on her shoulder. “Maybe I could give you a massage later?” He smirked, wiggling his eyebrows up and down.
"I- I’m fine. I’ve just got some stuff on my mind." She managed to say. Her mind was racing in every way. She wasn’t this person, the one who lied, and she didn’t want to be this person. She needed to get this out in the open, she couldn’t lead him on like this whether the time was right or not. "Charlie, there’s something I need to - There’s something we need to talk about."
Joel slid his fingers through hers, letting the feel of them in his own hand settle there for a minute. It felt right and familiar, like … like home. Her hand felt as though it was made for his but he didn’t want to wax that poetic too soon. She had teased him about metaphors and analogies and being bad with words, but the truth was, he just really did not know how to articulate what he wanted to say accurately.
Everything Joel had ever wanted in his lifetime had been because of and with her. And he’d wait as long as it took to get it right this time. She made him better, whether she would allow him to think that or not, the truth was there. He looked to her for advice, to guide him, to show him how to be better, and she had done that from the day they met. She didn’t realize that he couldn’t accurately live his life without her in it in some form or another.
She got an odd look on her face and that laugh that accompanied it made him smile. A laugh followed and he gave her a look. “Who was right?” He wondered now how many people had anticipated this outcome and who would intervene at some point. “Okay, I’m going to say this again. I love you.” He squeezed her hand as he said it. “And this is worth it to me.”
The smile across Alex’s face reached her eyes as they looked into Joel’s. There was amusement in them as she spoke. “Maggie was.” She said, grinning. “I think she saw all of this coming, more than anyone else had.” Alex knew Maggie had always been perceptive when it came these things, but this was good, even for her. “A couple weeks ago she was going on about passion and dropping hints. She said that some things are just meant to be.” As she looked into Joel’s eyes she felt happy, she felt right. “She was right about everything.”
Alex knew that the two of them would have to go back out into the world now, they would have to face people, and tread carefully. She knew the two of them couldn’t stay out here forever, they had jobs to get back to.
"I love you too." The words came from her mouth so effortlessly, it wasn’t something she had to think about, it was something she knew. "It’s worth it to me too, no matter what Charlie or anyone else thinks. I love you and that’s what is right."
